Trinity Venture Partners was established in Toronto in 2018 and was co-founded by serial entrepreneurs Eric So and John Kanakis. The vision was to create an all encompassing merchant banking platform that would solely focus on seed capitalizing and incubating companies that had the ability to disrupt and transform entire sectors.
Our process starts with identifying a gap within a sector that would be ripe for disruption followed by the decision making process of identifying an early stage company who is building a solution to fill the gap and or the decision for us to internally develop and incubate our own company to bring to market.

Eric So is a veteran owner and operator of various public and private companies over the last 15 years and has led C-level corporate strategy, development and finance at all stages of the business life cycle from start-up to high growth and large international. A trusted advisor he began his career practicing in the areas of corporate commercial, securities, finance and mergers and acquisitions at a leading international law firm.

John Kanakis - Co-founder & Managing Director

John Kanakis is a serial entrepreneur turned venture capitalist with nearly 20 years of private and public company experience with a core focus on business development, M & A, corporate structuring and fundraising. John has co-founded, seed capitalized, led business development efforts and sat on the board of directors of multiple companies that are currently industry leaders in their respective fields and that have collectively reached a valuation of over US$1B.
